This is hands down the most delicious coffee I’ve ever had. Their velvety smooth coffee is well balanced without bitterness or acidity with notes of chocolate floral and red fruit. Along with high quality coffee the space is calming and warm, very inviting with its clean/modern yet natural/peaceful minimalist design. Charming professional service. The founder, Maciej, making the coffees with fantastic presentation and he’s the nicest host anyone could ask for. Black Fodder meets the highest standards in hospitality by baking/cooking all food, fresh and healthy from scratch in house. They even meet the absolute highest standard of all: using RO filtered AND remineralized water.

This is easily the best coffee shop in all of River Forest, Oak Park and Forest Park. The coffee and espresso is exceptional and prepared with such meticulous care. The staff is super friendly and kind, and the shop is very inviting, the perfect third space we all are looking for these days. I’ve had some top notch espresso tonics, a delicious V60 pour over, and an amazingly complex single origin espresso from this shop and I loved all of them. An absolute 10/10 in my book.

After a long, exhausting morning of shoveling, we stopped by Black Fodder, and I’m so glad we did. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Byron who truly made our experience unforgettable. Byron’s expertise in coffee preparation and his deep understanding of the drinks, their sources, and the meticulous process behind them were impressive. You can tell that the team here is passionate about their craft and it shows in every cup. The space itself is stylish and inviting, creating the perfect environment for either a quick break or a leisurely coffee experience. With its calm ambiance and modern design, it’s easy to unwind and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The drinks are top-notch—full of flavor and expertly crafted. The baristas add a personal touch to the experience. We'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality coffee and great service.

High level coffee spot with the ambiance to match. Not the place for bottomless drip, but if you can appreciate the craft of producing high quality brews you should check it out. My mocha had a good balance and the espresso pull was still prevalent in the flavor profile.

So happy to have found a “proper” coffee shop so close to where I’m staying in Oak Park! It’s rare to have a coffee shop where you can get multiple kinds of preparation with pour overs, siphon, etc and your choice of delicious beans. I’m enjoying a lovely Ethiopia made with V60 - nice floral and fruity notes.

Nice little coffee shop located at the end of a local neighborhood , atmosphere was nice , owner seemed passionate and overall the esthetics of the place was 10/10. Coffee was solid and desert good as well. A little bit on the pricey side but that's to be expected with today's economy and the location of the shop. Highly recommend checking em out , I hope they stay in business for a while because they are still fairly new.

Left the airport for this amazing spot in my layover. Hidden in a neighborhood, this spot hits all the right notes. Top shelf third wave coffee, kind service, dope and atmosphere. So worth the effort to come work here today.

We used Black Fodder’s mobile coffee bar for a company event and they were fantastic! Their booking site was easy to use, they arrived on time, set up quick, and guests loved the options provided. The matcha was a huge hit along with the espresso options. Everyone kept asking where their cafe was located so they can try more drinks. We’ll absolutely use them in the future and highly recommend.

Nice surprise to find such a high caliber coffee experience. Very selective about their roasts, Wonder State from Madison WI and Magnifico, a Colombian roaster on Milwaukee Ave in Chicago. I felt the Owner/Barista really put their passion into delivering a quality product and experience. My Cortado was perfect and nice art. They also serve loose leaf teas, excellent. The shop is very welcoming and thoughtfully appointed. Looking forward to my next visit!
